It is never the intention of a loving parent/adult to hurt a child’s feelings or cause resentment, but sometimes the phrasing of our words can do just that, without us even realising !
There is a direct connection to how children feel and how they behave. Children have their own rules and language – which can certainly test our patience !!!
Love is not always enough… we sometimes need skills to cope with the daily demands of children. All it often takes is a switch in communication style, so we can understand and relate to each other.
Most adults underestimate the power of their words. A positive word can empower just as a negative word can be destructive. And it is our job to make them feel secure in this world.
